Training Support
Since 2005 NORDCAPS has been part of the Nordic Initiative providing Region-to-Region Support to the Western Balkans Region. This includes training of officers from the region at the Nordic Training Centers and export of the well-known NORDCAPS Courses to the Regional Training Centers e.g. in Belgrade, Sarajevo, Tirana and Skopje. Part of this program is arranged by NORDCAPS as a "Train-the-Trainer Program" where officers from the Balkans are trained at the Nordic Training Centers with the aim of becoming instructors, mentors and course directors at their respective national Training Centers thus enabling the Regional Training Centers to gradually take over the responsibility for national and regional training.

The Region-to-Region support also includes "Tailor-made" seminars with e.g. operational, legal and personnel issues.
In 2007/2008 the NORDCAPS and the three Baltic States have provided support to the Multinational Staff Officers Center in Kiev, Ukraine by assigning a Nordic PSO officer to the Center. Support to the Ukrainian Training Center will continue in 2009.
As part of the Nordic support to the United Nations NORDCAPS is presently preparing a Joint Mission Analysis Centre (JMAC) Course. Norway is lead nation for the project with support from the other Nordic nations.
In order to ensure full coordination with the UN Department Of Peace Keeping Operations (DPKO) the NORDCAPS Planning Element (PLE) arranged a series of meetings with UN representatives, among these the newly appointed Head of the Integrated Training Services, Mrs. Fatemeh Ziai.
At the end of the meeting Mrs. Ziai was presented a NORDCAPS Plaque by the PLE Chief-of-Staff, LtCol Egil Nordli.
